Plaza Club Receives Klinginsmith Cup, Is Recognized as 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club

For the third time in five years, the Plaza Club has been awarded the Klinginsmith Cup in District 6040.  The Cup, named after 2010-11 Rotary International President Ray Klinginsmith from Kirksville, is awarded annually to the club that achieves the Presidential Citation and has the highest per capita contributions to The Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund in the previous Rotary year.  In 2013-14, Plaza Rotarians contributed an average of $355.76 to the Annual Fund.  The Cup was presented to 2013-14 Club President Debra Anderson at the annual Foundation Dinner on November 8. The other clubs in the top three in the District were Lee's Summit Sunrise ($295.82) and Richmond ($263.88).  Overall, District 6040 Rotarians contributed $239,500 to the Annual Fund last Rotary year, an average of $98.52.

The Club was also recognized as a 100% Paul Harris Fellow club, meaning that all members of the club had achieved recognition as Paul Harris Fellows at a given point in time.  This goal, which has been achieved by only five or six other clubs in the District, was reached in October. The Richmond Rotary Club was also recognized at the Foundation Dinner as a 100% Paul Harris Fellow club.  A Paul Harris Fellow is one who has contributed $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation or has received 1,000 recognition points from the club or other Rotarians.  Congratulations, Plaza Rotarians!!
