Earnest McCoy, who was sponsored by the Plaza Rotary Club, has been selected to be a member of the District 6040 Group Study Exchange team that will be going to BraziImagel in May-June 2013.  Earnest graduated from Villanova University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and is an engineer with Honeywell FM&T.  He is engaged to our fellow Rotarian, Adriann Sullivan.

“Although I have spent time learning about Brazilian culture on my own, nothing beats being able to travel to the country and experience the culture first hand,” Earnest wrote in his application.  “I am extremely excited about the opportunity to experience Rotary on an international level and represent our Missouri Rotary District 6040 in Brazil.”

Earnest was one of four young professionals (ages 25-40) who were selected for the team last week by the District 6040 GSE Subcommittee chaired by Allen Garner of the Independence Rotary Club.  The team will be led by Sandra Eckert-Stewart, a member of the Lee’s Summit Rotary Club.

“Thank you to the Plaza Rotary Club for sponsoring me,” Earnest said after his selection.  “I look forward to sharing my experiences with you all upon my return!”

Earnest’s selection continues a tradition of GSE involvement for the Plaza Club, which has sponsored numerous GSE team members in recent years and counts several GSE alumni among its members.
