We Know Shoes!

Can't resist one more shout out to all the club members for the impressive showing in this year's annual Shoes for Orphan Souls drive.

Our club donated 1,219 pairs of shoes and had an impressive showing at the collection, held in connection with the District Assembly  at the Remington Nature Center in St. Joseph.

Here you can see fellow Plaza Rotarians on the truck with shoes -- from left, Dave Bahner, Beth Bahner, Frances Reddis, Larry Lunsford and Cassy Venters.

Congratulations!

Going once... twice... Sold!

Celebrating Streetcars
Several Kansas City Plaza Rotarians met last Friday evening to join in the First Friday celebrations and the grand launch party for Kansas City's new downtown trolley.

Beth Bahner reports: Denise Holt, Jennifer Kyle, Frances Reddis and Beth enjoyed the First Friday and the opening of the streetcar. We saw Jacquelyn Blake and her family in an art gallery while we were there; we watched fireworks at Union Station; posed in front of a "Skittles" car; we did not ride the streetcar but managed to pose in front of one, and, we 'loved' on some beautiful greyhound dogs -- Jennifer's favorite dog -- at a pet store.

Here's a few shots of the fun, including a nice chance to see our own Jacquelyn with her beautiful new baby!
