Changing of the Guard Thursday night at the K

Join your fellow Plaza Rotarians at Kaufmann Stadium as incoming President Jane Brown officially announces our board for the coming year and "pins" the new board members.  Jane promises she will be a woman of "few words".  As a true blue Royals fan, she wants to make sure we get to watch every minute of the game as the Royals crush the Minnesota Twins.

Our venue, the Pepsi Porch, overlooks center-right field and is a great place to enjoy the company and the game together.  The venue opens at 6:10 and the game begins at 7:10.  Our tickets include all the cheeseburgers, hot dogs, mac & cheese, chips, cookies and Pepsi products you can eat and drink and will be served from the 1st-5th innings.  Beer may be purchased anytime after 6:10.

Reminder: don't forget to bring $12 for parking.

See you there!

No regular meeting this week

Our next meeting is Friday, July 10th at our new home of The Grand Street Cafe.

Speaking of The Grand Street...

At a Glance Roving Reporter Jacqueline Blake recently interviewed Rick Ghilardi, one of the current owners, and files this report:

Grand Street Café has been a Kansas City favorite for its award winning modern cuisine for more than 20 years.  Rick and Kristi Ghilardi along with Greg & Kathy Hirleman purchased Grand Street Café in 2008. Rick and Kristi actually worked at Grand Street Café for the PB&J restaurant group when it first opened in 1991; this is where Rick and Kristi met and fell in love. Since the four came together to purchase Grand Street Cafe, they have opened a second location in Lenexa and they have purchased McLain’s Bakery (where they make fresh breads, pastas and deserts for both restaurants). Grand Street Café is especially proud of their private event rooms and are most excited to have the Plaza Rotary Club met in their event space every Friday.
