This Week: Justin Wilfon, Channel 41 News Anchor: "My Journey in News"

Justin Wilfon joined KSHB, Channel 41 news last September as the anchor newscaster of the station's primary newcast, "The Now KC."

Justin's journey to Kansas City started when he was in the third grade, when a TV weatherman visited his school and talked about the excitement of television news.  Justin was hooked. He even started doing fake "newscasts" for his parents in the basement of their house.  Eight years later, at the age of 16, Justin started working in radio at a small station in Illinois. He then moved on to work for a larger radio station in St. Louis, writing news and sports for the weekend newscasts.

After college at Southern Illinois University, he started his TV career on the West Coast, where he was a news anchor in Washington State.  He worked at stations in Louisville, Kentucky, and Tulsa, Oklahoma before coming to Kansas City. His career highlights include coverage of the Oklahoma grass fires in the winter of 2006, a trip to Hollywood to cover "American Idol," and a one-on-one interview with rock star and activist, Bono -- an experience he will never forget.
