March 6:  Adam Magers, Save a Warrior Project:  "Saving Warriors with PTS"

Many soldiers who have been involved in war say that experiencing Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) is as bad or perhaps worse that war itself. Severe stress, anxiety, paranoia, and irritability can be overwhelming. Save a Warrior has innovated a PTS healing process that combines a variety of healing methods to help these veterans recover and become productive citizens again.

Adam Magers, who served eight years in the U.S. Army, including a tour of “IED hunting” in Iraq, is Project Director of the Kansas City office of Save a Warrior. He received the Army’s Commendation Medal with Valor for his courage in combat in Sadr City. He holds a Masters of Global Studies degree in international relations and comparative politics from Missouri State University. Before coming to Save a Warrior, Magers worked for the Missouri Department of Mental Health and owned a non-profit to support veterans with PST.  For further information, click on this link: http://www.saveawarrior.org
