Let the Shoe-Buying Begin for Orphans in Dominican Republic!
It's official! Larry Lunsford, Plaza Rotarian and Shoes Cheerleader extraordinaire, has officially “kicked off” District 6040's 12th Annual shoes collection.
The shoes collected this year will go to the Dominican Republic, where District 6040 clubs are working on several projects. The annual SHOES ROLL CALL OF CLUBS will be conducted on April 27th at the District Conference in Blue Springs. The present plan is to have the Shoes Caravan the following week (see related story, below).
Lisa Deatherage and Ed Laadegard are serving as the Shoes co-chairs for the Plaza Rotary Club this year. Be alert for their unique promotions in the coming weeks.
