Rotary Leadership Institute
The Rotary Leadership Institute is back!  After its annual winter hibernation, the District's leadership training program for Rotary club leaders will resume on April 22 in Chillicothe (First Baptist Church, 1601 Bryan St.).  Take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn more about Rotary, sharpen your volunteer leadership skills, and make new friends from around the District.  Register at www.hoa-rli.org; the cost is just $50 for each all-day session.  Contact District RLI Coordinator Jerry Venters at jvrotary6040@yahoo.com with your questions.

Rotaract KC Camp Rise

When school is out for the summer, most children are thrilled. However, for more than 8,000 children experiencing homelessness in the Greater Kansas City area, this is often a scary and stressful time. Thousands lose stability, access to daily free meals and a place to feel safe and cared for. Most homeless shelters do not accept unaccompanied youth under 18 and there are minimal options for children of working parents who cannot afford day-care.

Rotaract Kansas City’s CAMP RISE seeks to provide a safe, engaging and activity packed summer camp for youth ages 8-13 who are currently homeless in Kansas City. CAMP RISE aims to celebrate independence, resilience and empowerment. Our campers will gain new and exciting experiences, valuable life-skills and most importantly, the freedom to be a kid away from the strain and uncertainty of homeless living.

CAMP RISE promises an exciting opportunity for campers to enjoy four days and three nights of swimming, hiking,  crafts and sports at the Rotary Youth Camp in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Our campers will also be able to partake in team-building and self-confidence exercises with our attentive and enthusiastic staff.

YOU can get involved today by donating or joining the CAMP RISE staff & counselor team.

Define your Rotary Legacy
https://clubrunner.blob.core.windows.net/00000004680/Images/foundation100.jpgThe commitment to Service Above Self is what defines us as Rotarians, and the Rotary Foundation is one of the main vehicles we use to serve others and make the world a better place. Here’s your opportunity to define your Rotary legacy and support the Rotary Foundation for its 100th anniversary.

District Governor Kim Lesage and District Rotary Foundation Chair Cassie Venters invite you to participate in the Rotary District 6040 Centennial Legacy Campaign to celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Rotary Foundation. The Campaign goal is to raise $2,650,000 for The Rotary Foundation by April 10, 2017.

Contributors who make a minimum commitment of $10,000 in cash, Rotary Direct pledges, or a bequest will be invited to attend the Centennial Legacy Dinner, to be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Rotary International President John Germ will be the keynote speaker.

Contact our club’s Legacy Dinner Campaign Table Captains Roger Samuel roger.samuel@msasearch.com or Jerry Venters  jvotary6040@yahoo.com for more information.
