2017 RYLA Academy Experience

Brooke Berkbuegler & Blaise Dauzvardis will be speaking. Blaine Murphy is not able to attend.

Brooke Berkbuegler is Terry and Shannan’s niece and is from Festus, MO.  Brooke is involved with the music programs at her school and enjoys performing at the local nursing home.  She just finished her sophomore year of high school.

Blaise Dauzvardis was connected to us by Rich Linden, and his mother, Heather, is a professional counselor at RYLA.  He is a student at Lincoln College Prep and just finished his sophomore year.  He enjoys taking photos, writing poetry, camping, and helping his friends with film projects.  Past volunteering included Harvesters, Blue River cleanup, fund raising for kids with life threatening illnesses, & Highlands Cemetery cleanup & tombstone restoration.

Blaine Murphy is Lisa Deatherage's son.  Blaine just completed his sophomore year at Shawnee Mission East.  He is involved with the GSA Club and enjoys archery and writing.  He volunteered at the inaugural Games for Good (then the Humanitarian Games) at the Shelter Box exhibit helping with setup and tear down, as well as promoting Shelter Box to attendees.

Club 13 helped us out by funding Blaise’s scholarship to camp, and the KC Plaza Rotary Club funded Brooke & Blaine.
