Matt Baysinger is the CEO of Swell Spark, an entertainment company operating brands including Breakout KC escape rooms, Blade & Timber axe throwing, and Sinkers Lounge, a mini golf bar opening in 2021. 

Matt graduated from The University of Kansas with a B.S. in Sociology and a MSE in Higher Education. After college, Baysinger worked for the NCAA and helped create the Big 12 Leadership Summit, an annual leadership conference for student athletes. Baysinger went on to design a college guidance program while serving as the Director of College Guidance at St. James Academy in Lenexa, Kansas. He spent summers developing an award-winning film studio, Baysinger Films, named “Best in Kansas City” for five consecutive years. Baysinger continued building businesses by co-founding and growing a top-rated soda shop, Mass Street Soda, which carries more varieties of soda than any other location in the world. 

In 2015, Baysinger co-founded Breakout KC, the only escape room in the U.S. to be ranked in the top five by both TripAdvisor and USA Today. The creation of Breakout KC was the beginning of Swell Spark’s growth as an industry leader in interactive entertainment, headquartered in Kansas City. Over the last five years, Baysinger led his team to open 13 entertainment locations across the country, with a mission to bring people together through shared experiences.

Baysinger has been recognized as one of Kansas City’s NextGen Leaders, Ingram’s 50 Kansans You Should Know and The Business Journal’s Rising Stars, spotlighting 100 people nationwide who are impacting their communities. Baysinger lives in Lawrence, Kansas with his beautiful wife, Emily, and three children.

Sarah Jones is an attorney in Kansas City. Currently, she works for Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt as an Assistant Attorney General for Special Litigation. She is a member of the office’s Human Trafficking Taskforce and is the lead attorney for the Hope Initiative, a creative policy endeavor seeking to irradiate human trafficking in the state. Sarah is an alumna of Saint Louis University School of Law and Rockhurst University. Before law school, she worked as a program manager at a tax policy and good government think tank in New York City and, in 2015, served as Quinton Lucas’s Campaign Manager. Sarah lives in the Waldo neighborhood of Kansas City with her dog, Hamilton.
