The Plaza Rotary Club, in coordination with the Hope House, will purchase and install new playground equipment, new safety foam and turf for the playground area, and fencing/gate to enclose the basketball court located behind the Lee’s Summit shelter facility. Additionally,
funds will support the completion of necessary safety improvements for the agency’s basketball court to eliminate the current trip and fall hazard.

The project is designed to aid the childrens’ healing from trauma as well as furthering Hope House’s mission to break the cycle of domestic violence. Creating a safe place to play will have a significant and positive impact on children residing in Hope House’s shelter.

Safety and liability issues compel us to have professionals install much of this new equipment.  We hope that much of the work can be completed this Autumn. Plans are for the Rotary Club members to install the fencing & gate to the basketball court in the Spring.

Total Project Cost: $ 15,659.42
Plaza Rotary Club Foundation Support: $5,159.42
District Funds: $10,500.00
