Volunteer for a Heart to Heart International Pop Up Hygiene Kit Build Event
September 12, 5:30
There will be a sign up sheet at this week’s meeting. This opportunity is for individuals and families who want a hands-on experience assembling kits. A $20 donation per person at these assembly events allows HHI to continue to assemble and distribute kits like these to survivors around the world. To RSVP via email, sign up with Paul Temme.
*As the location is an active warehouse, anyone under the age of 18 will need to have a parent/guardian sign the policies and waiver form. Children attending will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian during the time of the event.
KC Rotary Reads
President Erik and Other Distinguished Members of the Plaza Rotary Club – please see the attached information regarding the ‘small’ Greater Kansas City Rotary (GKCR) project called #RotaryReadsKC.  We’re asking all clubs in the Metro to commit to whatever number of readers they would like to.  We’re targeting that readers read to a 2nd-4th grade class anytime during the week of September 23rd to coincide with the Zone Institute that will be held here in Kansas City.  For more information, check out the website at . The deadline for shirt orders is 8/22/19.  We’re hoping each club collects their own members $20 and submit a single payment to the Overland Park Club (they offered to track the finances).  I’m probably forgetting to tell you something important because I’ve been looking at it too long, so let me know if I’ve missed something.
Let me know if you have any questions.  I’ll bring this information on Friday and start passing around the signup. If you're not going to make the meeting, email to RSVP.
Friendship Exchange
Dan Hall visited our club Friday, July 26 to talk a bit about the proposed Rotary Friendship Exchange. Couples are invited to join and visit Romania and Moldova, 12 nights, with 4 nights spent in 3 locations. For more information on this, check out the District website here. Though it says the deadline has passed, reach out to Dan to see if there is still availability.
