Elizabeth Usovicz Receives Foundation's Citation for Meritorious Service

Elizabeth Usovicz, a Past District Governor of District 6040 and a Plaza Rotarian, was presented The Rotary Foundation's Citation for Meritorious Service at theDistrict 6040 Changing of the Guard ceremonies recently. The award recognizes Rotarians who have given outstanding active service to the Foundation through Foundation committees and participation in Foundation grants and programs. Elizabeth has served as the District's Grants Committee Chair for the last several years. Only one individual per district can receive this award each year. Since 2000, only four District 6040 Rotarians have received the recognition. Elizabeth joins Larry Lunsford as the only Plaza Rotarians to receive this distinction.

In presenting the award, 2012-13 District Governor Kenny Harris called Elizabeth one of his Rotary heroes. “I am always amazed at the dedication to Rotary she has.  She works tirelessly for our district with the Grants program.  She will take the time out of her very busy schedule to work one-on-one with clubs to ensure the Grant process is viable and accurate.  She gives her time and talents to Show Me Rotary (PETS/SETS), and at Zone Institute (which trains Governors-Elect and Governors-Nominee) as well as being active at International Assembly.  Elizabeth truly lives our motto, Service Above Self.”

Congratulations, Elizabeth!  We're proud of you!
