Plaza Rotary Presents Check to Support International Service Trip

The International Services Committee presented a $325 check recently to Andrea Sobczyk, a Rockhurst University senior from Omaha, Neb., to pay 50% of her out-of-pocket expenses for an upcoming service trip to Honduras. More than 90 Rockhurst students will be making international service trips this school year to Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and other countries.  The University has conducted the service trips for about 15 years.  Mike Theobald (right), career services officer at Rockhurst and a Plaza Rotarian, presented the check to Andrea.  Mike has made seven trips as a faculty sponsor, including five trips to Guatemala and one to Nicaragua, but he isn't scheduled -- yet! -- to go this school year.  Bill Kreige (left), Assistant Director of Campus Ministry, coordinates the service trips.
