This Friday: "The Monuments Men"Image

"The Monuments Men," the story of the Allies' efforts to rescue and preserve valuable and precious art works in Italy and Germany in World War II, has become a major movie attraction this year.  Perhaps many of you have seen the movie or read the books about their exploits.  In this program, Mackenzie Mallon of the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum's Department of European Painting and Sculpture will tell us more about the crucial rescue effort and the Museum's connections to it. Chances are the "real story" will differ ever so slightly from the movie version!
