The Rabbit hOle - the world's first ExploraStorium!

Pete Cowdin and his wife, Deborah Pettid, operated the Reading Reptile in Kansas City for more than 25 years, achieving a national reputation as one of the most respected children’s bookstores in the country. In early 2015, they founded the Rabbit hOle, a 501(c)3, and began work to develop a visionary center for the children’s book chartered to create new and extraordinary immersive experiences around literature that will change lives and revitalize the culture of reading for generations to come. Currently, the Rabbit hOle occupies a temporary concept space in the Crossroads at 110 Southwest Blvd while it raises money for a permanent home - a 50,000+ square foot building that will house a multitude of evolving narrative installations, an interactive art gallery, a printing press and bindery, writing and story labs, a theater, a bookstore, a reference library and archive, a pair of ever-changing immersive storybook galleries, and a national author residency. In short - the world's first ExploraStorium!
